Entryway Art: First Impressions Matter
Title: Your Entryway Painting Sets the Tone for Your Whole Home
The entryway is your home’s first impression. One good oil painting = instant ritual.
Three rules:
1. Vertical first—entry walls are usually narrow and tall
2. Simple subject—readable at a glance
3. Bright tones—entryways are often dim
Best subjects:
🌿 Single branch or floral close-up
🏔️ Distant mountains, sea, sky
🎨 Minimal abstract color blocks
🚪 Doorways, paths, light and shadow
Size guide:
- Narrow wall (60–80cm/24–31″) → 40×50cm (16×20″) or 50×70cm (20×28″)
- Feature wall (1m+/3ft+) → 60×80cm (24×31″) or 70×100cm (28×39″)
- Above console → art width ≤ 2/3 of console width
Height:
Center at 150–155cm (59–61″) from floor—eye level.
Bonus:
Add a small spotlight or a minimal frame. Doubles the impact.
